Switches, Outlets, and Devices
Put power and lighting controls where you need them. Talk directly to Colt about outlet installations, repairs, switch replacements, and compatible dimmers for your Battle Ground home or business.

Everyday electrical connections, carefully planned.
A convenient outlet or a reliable switch can make a room easier to use. Whether you are remodeling, adding equipment, or replacing a device that has stopped working properly, Tane Electric reviews the existing wiring and your intended use before recommending the work.
Bring your list of locations and any equipment models you have chosen. Colt explains the proposed electrical scope and estimate so you can decide what to address now and what to plan for later.
Electrical Outlet Installation
Add power where you actually use it, from a home office to a garage workbench. Colt reviews the intended load, circuit capacity, grounding, outlet spacing, and required AFCI or GFCI protection before adding a receptacle. Some locations can use an appropriate existing circuit; others need a new dedicated circuit. Share the room layout and equipment before choosing locations.
Electrical Outlet Repair & Replacement
Loose-fitting plugs, cracked covers, intermittent power, or a receptacle that no longer works deserve attention. The cause may be the device, a connection, or wiring elsewhere on the circuit. Colt investigates the problem before recommending replacement. Stop using an outlet with heat, scorch marks, or arcing, and describe what happened when you request service. Replacing a faceplate alone does not repair an electrical fault.
GFCI Outlet Installation & Replacement
Ground-fault circuit interrupter protection helps reduce shock risk by shutting off power when it detects a ground-fault imbalance. Kitchens, bathrooms, garages, outdoor areas, and other locations may require it. Colt can assess a new GFCI receptacle, a failed device, or protection supplied elsewhere on the circuit. GFCI protection does not create an equipment ground or repair damaged wiring. Repeated trips need investigation rather than bypassing the protection.
240-Volt Outlet Installation
Appliances, welders, shop equipment, and some EV chargers need a supply matched to the exact equipment. Send the model, voltage, current, and plug specifications before installation. Colt reviews circuit sizing, the receptacle configuration, grounding, any neutral requirement, and required protection. A matching plug shape or spare panel space does not confirm that an existing circuit has suitable capacity. Some equipment requires a hardwired connection instead.
USB & USB-C Outlet Installation
Built-in USB charging can free up receptacle space beside a desk, kitchen counter, or bedside table. Choose USB-A, USB-C, or a combination based on your devices. USB-C Power Delivery capability and charging output vary by product, cable, and connected device. Colt checks box space, wiring, circuit rating, and required protection before installation. Adding charging ports does not increase the capacity of the household circuit.
Floor Outlet Installation
A floor receptacle can bring power to seating, a desk, or an open-plan room without stretching a cord across a walkway. The installation needs a listed floor-box assembly suited to the floor construction, finish, and exposure. Access below the floor, structural framing, furniture placement, and protection requirements affect the work. Plan locations before flooring is installed when possible; an ordinary wall box is not a substitute for a floor-rated assembly.
Outdoor Weather-Resistant Outlet Installation
Outdoor power can support yard tools, patio equipment, seasonal lighting, and other suitable equipment. Colt reviews weather-resistant receptacles, required GFCI protection, appropriate enclosures and covers, and wiring suited to the location. Wet and damp locations have different installation requirements. Share where equipment will sit and whether plugs remain connected during use so the cover and layout can be selected correctly. Extension cords should not replace permanent wiring.
Light Switch Installation & Replacement
Replace a worn switch, add a convenient control location, or update how lights are operated in a room. Single-pole, three-way, and multi-location arrangements need wiring and devices suited to the intended operation. Smart switches may require a neutral conductor and compatible equipment. Colt checks the existing setup and connected load, including separate fan and light controls when applicable. A switch that buzzes, heats up, or works intermittently needs assessment.
Dimmer Switch Installation
Dimming can make a room more comfortable for cooking, dining, relaxing, or evening use. The dimmer must match the lamp or driver, load range, and switching arrangement. Dimmable LEDs need a compatible LED control; some fixtures require ELV, MLV, or 0–10V controls instead. Share fixture and bulb model numbers so Colt can review compatibility and help avoid flicker, buzzing, or poor low-level performance. Ordinary lighting dimmers are not fan-speed controls.
Planning your project
Send your locations, device preferences, and equipment details.
Include your Battle Ground property address, the rooms or outdoor areas involved, and how many outlets or switches you want added or replaced. Tell Colt whether walls are open, whether you have selected equipment, and whether any existing device is behaving unusually. Photos from a safe, accessible position can help explain the project. There is no need to remove covers or disturb wiring. Ask which devices, wiring changes, and finish repairs are included before agreeing to the work.

Before you get started.
Can I combine several outlet and switch updates in one estimate?
Yes. Share the full list, locations, and priorities so Colt can discuss the work together and explain what is included.
Can every outlet be replaced with a USB-C or GFCI outlet?
The wiring, box space, grounding arrangement, connected equipment, and required protection need review first. Share your preferred device before buying it.
Do I need an electrical permit?
Permit requirements depend on the electrical work and property location. Colt can explain the requirements for your project and coordinate required electrical permits and inspections for the agreed work. View Permits & Inspections →
